

Big performance: The ongoing talk of having a downtown performing arts center has been kept alive, thanks to the efforts of Mayor Buddy Dyer, who formed the nonprofit Orlando Performing Arts Center Corp., a fund-raising and planning organization to create the long-awaited facility. He topped off the effort by handpicking three high-powered business executives: Jim Pugh, owner and president of Epoch Properties; Jim Seneff, chairman and chief executive of CNL Financial Group Inc.; and Dick Nunis, chairman of the board of trustees for UCF and former chairman of Walt Disney Park & Resorts.
