Orlando -- Private funds for the Orlando Performing Arts Center are mounting with the announcement of a $1 million pledge from the Universal Orlando Foundation.

The pledge, confirmed by Jan Stratton, Universal's vice president of community and diversity relations, brings the total for OPAC to $47.5 million. OPAC's goal is $100 million from private donors.
