The following Letter to the Editor ran in the print edition of the Orlando Sentinel:

I enjoyed reading the Orlando Sentinel's recent article on the progress of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Just as the Amway Center provides a community venue for sports and entertainment events, the new performing arts center will attract arts, cultural and educations programs that will have a positive impact on Central Florida. The arts play a significant role in economic development. Throughout the world, communities with vibrant arts and cultural offerings are successful in attracting businesses, investors and creative class workers. Our entire region will benefit from this important project. The center promises to be a world-class facility and I look forward to its groundbreaking.
