OPAC Launches Web site

January 27, 2005

ORLANDO, Fla… The Orlando Performing Arts Center (OPAC), a nonprofit
corporation, recently launched its Web site w w w.OrlandoPAC.org . The Web site
is a component of the public awareness effort to garner community support and
input for a regional performing arts center. The Web site displays information
describing the OPAC initiative, planning board process, activities such as planning
board meetings and community forum dates. It also includes the Request for
Qualifications (RFQ) issued by the board of directors on Wednesday, January 26,
for a development team.

“Launching our Web site is a critical step to involving the public in building a
performing arts center that will serve the greater Orlando community,” said OPAC
Chairman Jim Pugh.

OPAC has been charged by the City of Orlando to outline a recommendation to
build a destination that elevates the arts, provides the best arts education,
generates urban renewal and most importantly, is programmed to be fiscally
responsible in construction and operations.

The next meeting of the OPAC Planning Board will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at 6 p.m. at SunTrust Bank, Central Florida, on the third floor of the Park Building at 200 S. Orange Avenue. The public is invited to attend. For additional information, please contact Rachel Kingston at (407) 644-9055 or rachel@orlandopac.org .
