DPAC Announces Naming of Symphony Stage in Multiform Hall - The Lynn and Chuck Steinmetz Stage

July 8, 2009

As a $1 million donor to the Dr. P. Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center, Lynn and Chuck Steinmetz recently named the symphony stage in the multiform hall, The Lynn and Chuck Steinmetz Stage. This stage configuration in the 1,700 seat hall, soon to be named by Walt Disney World Company, will feature symphonic music, concerts and other orchestral performances.

"We have been involved in the project from the beginning," said the couple, "and we are excited to name the symphony hall stage, the future home for our beloved Orlando Philharmonic."

This hall in the new performing arts center will be a unique and technologically advanced theater allowing for the configuration of the walls, floor and stage to transform via hydraulics from an acoustically sound symphony hall to a classic proscenium theater.

“We are thrilled with the generosity of Lynn and Chuck who have been advocates of the arts for many years,” stated Board Chairman Jim Pugh. “It is only appropriate that their name be a permanent legacy of this cultural destination."

Signage reflecting these naming opportunities will be installed with the construction of the performing arts center. Previously announced named gifts include the Dr. P. Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center with a $25 million gift from Dr. Phillips Charities, the Bill and Mary Darden Box Office with a $1 million gift from Darden Restaurants, the Richard Kessler Hospitality Suite from a $1 million gift from Richard Kessler, and The Peter Family Stage, the proscenium stage named with a $1 million gift from Annette Neel.
