Design Review

Larry Goldman- NJPAC, Kathy Ramsberger- DPAC, Steven Wolff-AMS, Steve Loftin- Cincinnati Arts Association and Howard Sherman- LA Music Center

In line with its mission, the performing arts center and the Design Team have engaged bright minds in their respective fields of expertise to participate in key design reviews, including performing arts center executives, technology leaders, Greater Orlando arts organization executives, theater and stage producers, and food and beverage professionals. With the completion of the newest design and development plans, a second round of reviews with performing arts leaders from around the nation began. We appreciate the expertise of Judy Lisi, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center; Steve Loftin, Cincinnati Arts Association; Howard Sherman, LA Music Center; and Larry Goldman, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, who provided expertise on the elements of design that support operations.

Design Development Updates

The Construction Manager at Risk (CM) team is responsible for a large amount the performing arts center's "on time/on budget commitment." Reporting directly to our development partner, Hines, the CM will lead the effort to build our performing arts center in accordance with the construction documents provided by the production architect, HKS + Baker Barrios. Additionally, the CM will provide preconstruction services as they relate to the cost, constructability and schedule for the center.

An RFP has been issued with pre-bid conferences and responses slated for October 8 and 30 2008. The procurement committee is scheduled to meet at the beginning of November to hear CM presentations and identify the recommended candidate for City Council approval by mid-December 2008.
