An Evening with Davis Gaines

December 5 | Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater

Broadway veteran Davis Gaines and pianist John Olearchick return by popular demand on December 5, 2019 with an intimate evening of song benefiting hunger relief and homeless prevention.
“Gaines is a breathtaking concert artist, strong yet nuanced. The way he can express great tenderness one moment, great power the next, seems little short of miraculous.” –The New York Post

Prepare for an engaging evening when Los Angeles’ longest-running Phantom from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera will dazzle the theater with his rich baritone vocals and commanding presence. Gaines will showcase his versatility performing a range of Broadway classics and popular American standards.

In addition to performing the title role in The Phantom of the Opera over 2,000 times on Broadway, in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Gaines’ illustrious career includes leading roles in Man of La Mancha, Hello, Dolly!, Camelot, Les Miserables, and Sweeney Todd, plus numerous television appearances. Gaines, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the Florida State University, has sung for five U.S. Presidents and with virtually every major symphony orchestra in North America. Presented by the Christian Service Center for Central Florida, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to combating hunger and preventing homelessness in the Orlando area for almost 50 years, all net proceeds from this concert directly support hurting families and individuals who come to the Christian Service Center for help and hope.

“Celebrating the arts to serve our neighbors in need is a wonderful combination,” said Robert Stuart, Executive Director of the Christian Service Center for Central Florida. “The Christian Service Center serves hundreds of people each day through our three core programs of hunger relief and homeless prevention. Our annual concert celebrates our mission during a fun evening of incredible music.” This is a one-of-a-kind concert not to be missed! The Christian Service Center is offering Patron sponsorships with preferred concert seating, plus complimentary valet parking at the Dr. Phillips Center, recognition in the concert program and social media.

“One in every four children in Central Florida lives in poverty. For those who care about reducing homelessness in our community, or providing services and hope to those in need, this concert is a fun way to make an impact,” said Stuart. “Davis Gaines possesses such beauty and passion in his voice, and he believes in giving back to his hometown…we are honored to have his support to positively impact Central Florida.”

For those who can’t attend the concert, a donation to the Christian Service Center is always appreciated. Visit ChristianServiceCenter.org to learn about Patron Sponsor opportunities for this concert, ways to donate and get involved, or email questions to EmailUs@ChristianServiceCenter.org.
