ABOUT THE BAND

ARConnection, led by award-winning pianist Pablo Arencibia and hard-swinging drummer Dave Rudolph, is an innovative ensemble that captivates audiences with their dynamic synergy and creative improvisation. Drawing inspiration from musical legends like Herbie Hancock, Bryan Blade and Chick Corea, ARConnection seamlessly blends high-quality musicianship with a spontaneous, playful approach to their performances. Both Arencibia and Rudolph bring a wealth of expertise to their music, creating a unique musical experience that honors traditions while exploring new artistic horizons.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Pablo Arencibia is an award-winning pianist who began his journey as a concert pianist at the age of four, showcasing his talent in countries such as Venezuela, Spain, USA, France, Greece, Romania and Colombia. He graduated from the Juan José Landaeta National Conservatory in Caracas, Venezuela, and holds a Master of Music degree in Jazz Piano Performance from the University of South Florida. With over 20 years of experience as an educator, Pablo has shared his expertise in piano and other music courses at renowned institutions like the Creativa School of Music in Madrid, TAI Arts at Rey Juan Carlos University and Hillsborough Community College in Tampa. He currently teaches both Classical and Jazz Piano at the University of South Florida and at The University of Tampa.

Dave Rudolph has been an active member of the Tampa Bay music scene since 1994. He got his start on guitar at age 7 and then moved to the drums at age 11. Passionate about learning music, Dave has earned two degrees in Jazz Performance from the University of South Florida. He has appeared in shows at the Straz Center and works with various bands in the area including The Valerie Gillespie Ensemble, Thick as Thieves, La Lucha, LaRue Nickelson, James Suggs and his own group, The Dave Rudolph Quintet. In 2019 Dave release an album entitled Resonance featuring nine original post-bop compositions with stylistic elements reminiscent of Michael Brecker and Pat Metheny. Rudolph is currently the Professor of Jazz/Contemporary Percussion at the University of South Florida and Hillsborough Community College.
