A sought-after staple in the Central Florida jazz community, trombonist Derrick Harris returns to Judson’s Live with his high-energy quintet performing a range of original tunes and traditional standards. Hear them as they’re joined by the rich vocals of mezzo-soprano Caila Carter.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Derrick is a previous member of the Dr. Phillips Center Jazz Orchestra and is also part of the 6th and Jazz educational program. Celebrated as an in-demand jazz soloist throughout Florida, Derrick has performed with acts like George Lopez, DRUMLine Live and The Temptations. You might recognize Derrick’s sound from television, too—the celebrated trombonist can be heard on the Fox series Empire, as well as nationally-renowned gospel artist Tye Tribute's TBN special The Joys of Christmas.
