This concert will showcase promising young musicians, performing a range of big band jazz styles, from classic swing to contemporary arrangements. With every note, you’ll experience the power and excitement of live big band jazz, all while supporting the next generation of musicians. This performance will feature special guest artist, Alexis DeLaRosa. Alexis is a New York native going on her fourth year here in Central Florida. Her early music education primarily consisted of choral, classical and jazz music, while later she studied at Carnegie Mellon University, diving deeper into jazz and branching into a cappella and musical theater. Some of her credits include “Marian” in The Music Man, “Crystal” in Little Shop of Horrors, “Heather Duke” in Heathers, “Mimi” in RENT, and “Red Girl” in SHOUT! The MOD Musical. You can currently find her in the Wizarding World at Universal Orlando, the Bourne Stuntacular, the 239 Jazz Quartet and soon EPIC Universe.
