Crowned a “jazz prodigy” by Fader and listed as one of the "top five jazz artists to watch” by Ebony, alto saxophonist, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Braxton Cook has commanded the jazz scene with his contemporary and post-bop jazz sound infused with soul, funk, hip-hop and gospel. Hear selections from his most recent album Not Everyone Can Go when he makes his Judson’s Live debut.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

A native of Washington D.C., Braxton Cook has been a longtime member of trumpet virtuoso Christian Scott’s band, playing in studio sessions and extensively touring. Seen recently on NPR’s Tiny Desk, Braxton has performed and collaborated with the likes of Jon Batiste, Butcher Brown, Kiefer, Mac Miller and Rihanna, to name a few. As a leader, Braxton has released seven studio albums.
