Student Spotlight:

Student Spotlight: Brandon Herring, Jr.

Exploring the performing arts is a wonderful way to help kids to come out of their shell, discover their creativity and express themselves. And 9-year-old Brandon Herring, Jr. would agree.

“My favorite experience so far is learning to play the piano a little bit, and Broadway Jazz,” he said.

Since the spring of 2019, Brandon’s taken five classes at our AdventHealth School of the Arts—including Broadway Jazz this spring, where he learned about proper dance technique, timing and iconic movements from popular musicals. Speaking of, his absolute favorite is Hamilton, which he hopes to see it here at the arts center someday.

The best part of taking different kinds of classes? “I get to sing, dance and learn new techniques.” He added, “I’m most excited about learning the combination of singing, dancing and acting together.”

And we’re excited to watch him do exactly that as he continues growing through class after class—his personality shining more and more each semester.
