Student Spotlight:

Student Spotlight: Levi Knowles

Meet a 12-year-old performer with a major passion for dancing. Levi Knowles first took classes with us in the summer of 2020, when he received a scholarship for a one-week camp at our AdventHealth School of the Arts.

“I really love and enjoy dancing, and learning new music material,” he said. “My favorite part of being at the performing arts school is that it's helping me improve my musicianship.”

To keep improving, the 12-year-old became a member of The Quarter Notes, supported by AdventHealth. This enthusiastic group of middle-schoolers represents the Dr. Phillips Center by performing throughout the community. Participating students also get to enjoy professional training in musical theater performance, acting and dance.

“I think it really has impacted my life for the better,” Levi said. “The music helps me think correctly—or at least that's how it makes me feel—because as my mom says ‘we eat, breathe and sleep music.’ And it has helped me to clear and soothe my mind.”

What is Levi especially looking forward to learning more about?

“This is a hard one for me because I love [it all], but if I had to pick one, I'd go with DANCING!”
