Know Before You Go

Eric Jacobsen, conductor | Samantha Barnes Daniel, soprano | Virginie Verrez, mezo-soprano | University of Central Florida Chorus

With a large orchestra and chorus, plus alto and soprano soloists, Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony tells the story of life, the search for understanding and meaning, and a universal expression of hope.

This quest can best be summed up in this excerpt from the final movement text:
O Pain, You piercer of all things,
From you, I have been wrested!
O Death, You masterer of all things,
Now, you are conquered!

This concert is part of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s Classics Series at Bob Carr Theater.
