Experience the timeless brilliance of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, a monumental masterpiece often described as “one of the most important works of all time.” The four-note opening motif, da-da-da-dum, is an iconic musical moment synonymous with fate knocking at the door. Beethoven’s Fifth will immerse you in the symphony’s rich tapestry of dynamic contrast and keep you on the edge of your seat until the piece concludes with a roaring presto. Come discover why it continues to stand as a beacon of classical music.

Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis is based on themes by Weber, originally intended to be used for ballet. Artistic differences between the two ended with this piece redone as performed today, it was premiered by the New York Philharmonic in 1944.

Mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton sings Mahler’s five-part Lieder for voice based on lyric romantic poems and the simple melodic lines will leave you with complex emotions.

You are guaranteed to leave this concert with your soul stirred and an all-too-familiar catchy rhythm stuck in your head.
