ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Inspired by the guitar of flamenco legend Paco de Lucia, Don Soledad cultivated his sophisticated, soulful sounds in Northern California, beginning with his early guitar studies with the great Spanish flamenco maestros – Mariano de Cordoba and Agustin Rios, the nephew of legendary guitarist Diego del Gastor. Don’s studies continued in the Southern region of Spain – Andalucía, in the city of Jerez de la Frontera – with guitarist Juan Diego Mateos. Soon thereafter, Don was performing shows in San Francisco and the Sonoma and Napa Valley wineries.

As a performer and recording artist, Don has worked with talents in a variety of genres including rock singer Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Jazz bassist Kai Eckhardt (John McLaughlin and Garage Mahal), and opening for the late jazz guitar legend Larry Coryell. As a composer, Don has recorded two original albums, ‘Camino de Seda’ and ‘Soluna‘ and a Christmas album entitled ‘December Lullaby’.

Since departing the West Coast, Don has been a mainstay in the Florida talent pool, winning 1st place in Orlando, Florida’s FusionFest 2020 for “Best Musician” category with his band Don Soledad Group as well as performing and touring the continental USA for music festivals and internationally with a tour of Manila, Philippines (Oct 2023). Additional performance highlights include: stints at the Versace Mansion in South Beach, performing for Gloria Estefan’s private parties, and leading the house band for 5 years at the Estefan’s resort Costa d’Este in Vero Beach, Florida.
