Do good. And have fun doing it.
Above donating their time and resources to create memorable guest experiences, our volunteers connect us with the very community that’ll help shape our future.
Whether you’re on your own, with your family or part of a larger organization, Dr. Phillips Center offers a range of volunteering opportunities. Find something that fits your interests below.
Inside the theater, you’ll read guests’ tickets, then guide them to the correct row and seat. During the show, you’ll stand in the back of the theater watching the audience, ready to help late-arriving guests or guests who need to leave—ensuring a positive experience by minimizing distractions. You may be required to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs and work in areas with dim lighting.
You’ll greet guests as they enter Della Phillips Grand Lobby, use a handheld device to scan tickets and give directions to door locations. Once the show starts, ticket-scanners may be asked to help in other areas of the building.
In Della Phillips Grand Lobby, you’ll help spread awareness of our Membership levels and opportunities that are available to support the arts center. During the show, you may be asked to help in other areas of the building.
In Della Phillips Grand Lobby, you’ll assist guests with things like directions and amenities, and hand out Playbills or our artsLife magazines. You’ll also guide guests to alternative areas when certain spots become too congested. During the show, some Lobby Ambassadors help usher inside the theater, while others stay in the lobby to help late-arriving guests or guests who need to leave.
PLAYBILL PREPARATION VOLUNTEER
You’ll work with a dedicated team to unpack, stuff and prepare Playbills or artsLife magazines for distribution to our guests. This is an on-call volunteer position during the week.
Please note that you need to be at least 18 to volunteer at Dr. Phillips Center.
