The Jeff Rupert Quartet with Lucy Yeghiazaryan interprets the Great American Songbook while bringing choice originals to the stage. Rupert is a performing and recording saxophonist whose credits include over 75 albums, 11 of those as a leader. He’s recorded as a featured soloist with legends like Mel Tormé, Kevin Mahogany, Ernestine Anderson, Maynard Ferguson, Sam Rivers, Kenny Barron, Veronica Swift, George Garzone, Diane Schuur and on Benny Carter’s Grammy-winning album, Harlem Renaissance.

Rupert has performed at major jazz clubs and concert halls around the world, including the Blue Note, Birdland, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, the Tokyo Forum, the National concert hall of Taipei, Taiwan and jazz festivals across the globe.

His album The Ripple was the #5 jazz album of the year in 2020. He is Distinguished Professor, Trustee Endowed Chair and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and the founder of Flying Horse Records. Rupert authors and hosts Jazz and the American Spirit, a nationally syndicated weekly radio show examining the connection between jazz and the American experience.

Lucy Yeghiazaryan is a leading voice in American straight-ahead jazz and is a recipient of grants from the Doris Duke Foundation, Chamber Music America and the New York Foundation for the Arts. She’s shared the stage with Harold Mabern, Houston Person, Grant Stewart, Terell Stafford and many more. She regularly works with the Emmet Cohen trio and can be found performing in and outside of the United States with regular appearances at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, Mezzrow, Symphony Space and more. She was a top ten finalist in the 2015 Thelonious Monk Competition and holds a degree in World History. Her recordings and live shows clearly place her in high regard as a seminal voice in jazz.

“Once in a while an album comes out that reminds us how the tenor saxophone is supposed to sound” – Jazz Times; Jeff Rupert’s “The Ripple”

"Lucy has it all, an incredible tone, time that drives the band and that other ‘something’ that makes you say this is the real thing. Definitely one of a kind." – Grant Stewart
