Renowned Juilliard graduate and Carnegie Hall Soloist returns to Orlando Dec. 9 for a Christmas concert to benefit hunger relief and homeless prevention efforts throughout Central Florida.

The Christian Service Center for Central Florida is proud to announce the return of world-renowned concert pianist Randall Atcheson to Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Join your friends at the Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. to hear the Julliard School graduate as he shares his immense talent with us once again. Randall will play a variety of music, from Christmas and gospel, to classical and popular.

“Joining the arts and serving our neighbors in need is a wonderful partnership,” said Robert Stuart, Executive Director of the Christian Service Center for Central Florida. “The Center serves hundreds of people each day through our three core programs of homeless and hunger prevention.”

Randall teaches up to 70 youngsters a week and works diligently to share his talents globally through his many concerts and recordings. If you have seen Randall, you know he is at home with music of all types – classical, gospel, and pop; and his showmanship brings audiences to their feet.

This is a concert you won’t want to miss! Become a key Patron and enjoy a special treat at the home of Linda and Norm Pellegrini the evening before the show. This Patron Party will be open to all of our sponsoring patrons and will include an intimate dinner with Randall. The guest list is very limited for this unique event as part of the Patron packages, so please call (407) 425-2523 ext. 230 for pricing and information.

“One in every four children in Central Florida lives in poverty. For those who are concerned about preventing homelessness and providing guidance and services to our community, you will want to be involved,” said Stuart. “The funds received through this concert will help our neighbors in need right here in our own communities. Randall is a great performing artist with a heart for helping others…we are so proud of our new partnership to impact Central Florida.”

Trials and tribulations came upon the couple, but with their deep seeded faith in God, they realized this gift was the Great Messiah. Back by popular demand! Variety calls Wicked "a cultural phenomenon,” and it continues to break box office records and sell out in record time. Winner of over 100 international awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, Wicked is “Broadway’s biggest blockbuster” (The New York Times). Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One—born with emerald green skin—is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for "the most complete — and completely satisfying — new musical in a long time" (USA Today).

Getting away with murder can be so much fun… and there’s no better proof than the knock-‘em-dead hit show that’s earned unanimous raves and won the 2014 Tony Award® for BEST MUSICAL—A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER!

Coming direct from New York, where a most gentlemanly NPR critic said he’d “NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD AT A BROADWAY MUSICAL," GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession, by any means necessary. All the while, he’s got to juggle his mistress (she’s after more than just love), his fiancée (she’s his cousin but who’s keeping track?), and the constant threat of landing behind bars! Of course, it will all be worth it if he can slay his way to his inheritance… and be done in time for tea. The Hollywood Reporter raves, “GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE RESTORES OUR FAITH IN MUSICAL COMEDY” and The New York Times cheers, “IT WILL LIFT THE HEARTS OF ALL THOSE WHO’VE BEEN PINING FOR WHAT SOMETIMES SEEMS A LOST ART FORM.” Kindly get your tickets now for the new musical that will have you dying with laughter!

Dionne Warwick, one of the most successful female singer-songwriters of all time, will make this a Valentine's Day to remember.  Famous for hit songs such as Walk on By, Do You Know the Way to San Jose?, I Say a Little Prayer for You and Alfie, Warwick's winning partnership with Burt Bacharach and Hal David helped her become one of the world's greatest hit-makers.

Only the true greats get to contemplate precisely how to celebrate 50 years in the music business.  Dionne Warwick thought long and hard about how she should mark the five decades since her debut single, Don't Make Over in 1962. That song – written especially for her by the songwriting team of Bacharach and David – became a Top 40 hit on Billboard's Hot 100, sparking an incredible run of success that has seen her chart over 50 U.S. singles, win five Grammys® and sell one hundred million records.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3282. Commenting on the engagement, Ms Warwick said, "It will be an honor to perform at such an auspicious benefit, especially one that raises so much money for the veterans, on Valentine’s Day."

This release was followed by their sophomore album, The Piano Guys 2, then A Family Christmas, Wonders, and recently released The Piano Guys Live! album.

Now Norah has come full circle with Day Breaks, a remarkable new album that finds her returning to her jazz roots while also proving her to be this era’s quintessential American artist, the purveyor of an unmistakably unique sound that weaves together the threads of several bedrock styles of American music: country, folk, rock, soul, jazz. Day Breaks is a kindred spirit to Come Away With Me, though it is unquestionably the work of a mature artist who has lived life and grown immensely in her craft. The album features jazz luminaries including saxophonist Wayne Shorter, organist Dr. Lonnie Smith, and drummer Brian Blade who played on Norah’s debut album and became the backbone (and backbeat) of the new album. Day Breaks is a set of 9 originals written or co-written by Norah with collaborators Sarah Oda and Pete Remm whose themes range from love in all its guises to the socio-political, as well as 3 covers of songs by Horace Silver (“Peace”), Duke Ellington (“Fleurette Africaine”) and Neil Young (“Don’t Be Denied”).

Created by famed dance company Pilobolus, Shadowland is a first-of-its-kind performance combining legendary modern dance with high-energy, fast-paced multimedia, merging front-of-screen choreography with projected images and moving screens of different sizes and shapes.

Shadowland tells the story of a teenage girl, longing for her independence, with nowhere for her thoughts to go but to her dreams.  She sleeps, only to wake to something incredible lurking behind her bedroom wall – her shadow.  Walls spin, darkness swallows the girl, and she’s off on a journey into Shadowland.

Shadowland was conceived in collaboration with Steven Banks, lead writer for the playfully surreal animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, and is propelled by a rhythmic original score by the popular American musician, producer and film composer David Poe.  And, it is a signature Pilobolus presentation with the fluid logic of a dream, the grace of an acrobatic dance, the humor of a child, and the heart of a love story; it celebrates the strange and wonderful power of the dark to illuminate us in unexpected and utterly thrilling ways.

Eric Jacobsen, conductor | Soprano TBD | Alto TBD | University of Central Florida Chorus

With a large orchestra and chorus, plus alto and soprano soloists, Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony tells the story of life, the search for understanding and meaning, and a universal expression of hope.

This quest can best be summed up in this excerpt from the final movement text:
O Pain, You piercer of all things,
From you, I have been wrested!
O Death, You masterer of all things,
Now, you are conquered!

Know Before You Go

This breathtaking smash “captures the kid-at-heart” (Time Magazine). Vogue cheers, "it’s a must-see you’ll remember for years to come!” Directed by visionary Tony winner Diane Paulus, Finding Neverland tells the incredible story behind one of the world's most beloved characters: Peter Pan. Playwright J.M. Barrie struggles to find inspiration until he meets four young brothers and their beautiful widowed mother. Spellbound by the boys’ enchanting make-believe adventures, he sets out to write a play that will astound London theatergoers. With a little bit of pixie dust and a lot of faith, Barrie takes this monumental leap, leaving his old world behind for Neverland where nothing is impossible and the wonder of childhood lasts forever.
