Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I: September 12–17, 2017

One of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s finest works, The King and I boasts a score that features such beloved classics as “Getting to Know You,” “Hello Young Lovers,” “Shall We Dance,” “I Have Dreamed,” and “Something Wonderful.” Set in 1860’s Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher, whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children.

On Your Feet! The Musical – The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan: October 17–22, 2017

“If you don’t leave the theatre humming a Gloria Estefan hit, it may be time to check your pulse!” – Associated Press

From their humble beginnings in Cuba, Emilio and Gloria Estefan came to America and broke through all barriers to become a crossover sensation at the very top of the pop music world. But just when they thought they had it all, they almost lost everything. From international superstardom to life-threatening tragedy, On Your Feet! takes you behind the music and inside the real story of this record-making and groundbreaking couple who, in the face of adversity, found a way to end up on their feet. Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots), with choreography by Olivier Award winner Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys) and an original book by Academy Award® winner Alexander Dinelaris ("Birdman"), On Your Feet! features some of the most iconic songs of the past quarter century—and one of the most inspiring stories in music history.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies: The Phantom Returns: November 21–26, 2017

The year is 1907. It is 10 years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House, and the Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak shows of Coney Island. In this new, electrically charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar, but he has never stopped yearning for his one true love and musical protégée, Christine Daaé. Now one of the world’s finest sopranos, Christine accepts an invitation to travel from Paris to New York to perform at a renowned opera house. Christine’s marriage to Raoul is suffering at the hands of his drinking and gambling, and they desperately need the financial rewards that America can give them. In a final bid to win back Christine’s love, the Phantom lures her, Raoul, and their young son, Gustave, from Manhattan to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island – not knowing what is in store for them.

The Book of Mormon: December 12–17, 2017     **SEASON OPTION**

The New York Times calls it “the best musical of this century.” The Washington Post says, “It is the kind of evening that restores your faith in musicals.” And Entertainment Weekly says, “Grade A: the funniest musical of all time.” Jimmy Fallon of “The Tonight Show” calls it “Genius. Brilliant. Phenomenal.” It’s The Book of Mormon, the nine-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical.

This outrageous musical comedy follows the misadventures of a mismatched pair of missionaries, sent halfway across the world to spread the Good Word. Now with standing-room-only productions in London, on Broadway and across North America, The Book of Mormon has truly become an international sensation. Contains explicit language.

School of Rock: December 26–31, 2017

“A crowd-pleasing, upbeat musical with a wondrously rebellious spirit.” – Associated Press

School of Rock is a New York Times Critics’ Pick and “an inspiring jolt of energy, joy and mad skillz!” (Entertainment Weekly). Based on the hit film, this hilarious new musical follows Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star posing as a substitute teacher, who turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. This high-octane smash features 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber, all the original songs from the movie and musical theater’s first-ever kids rock band, playing their instruments live on stage. Vanity Fair raves, “Fists of all ages shall be pumping!”

Disney's The Lion King: February 14–March 11, 2018     **SEASON OPTION**

Giraffes strut. Birds swoop. Gazelles leap. The entire Serengeti comes to life as never before. And as the music soars, Pride Rock slowly emerges from the mist. This is Disney’s The Lion King, making its triumphant return to Orlando.

More than 90 million people around the world have experienced the awe-inspiring artistry, the unforgettable music and the uniquely theatrical storytelling of this Broadway spectacular—one of the most breathtaking and beloved productions ever to grace the stage.

Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, The Lion King brings together one of the most imaginative creative teams on Broadway. Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor brings to life a story filled with hope and adventure set against an amazing backdrop of stunning visuals. The Lion King also features the extraordinary work of Tony Award-winning choreographer Garth Fagan and some of Broadway’s most recognizable music, crafted by Tony Award-winning artists Elton John and Tim Rice.

Waitress: March 20–25, 2018

“The women of Waitress are changing Broadway!” – Time Magazine

Brought to life by a groundbreaking all-female creative team, this irresistible new hit features original music and lyrics by six-time GRAMMY® nominee Sara Bareilles (“Brave,” “Love Song”), a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson (“I Am Sam”) and direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Pippin, Finding Neverland). “It’s an empowering musical of the highest order!” raves the Chicago Tribune.

Inspired by Adrienne Shelly’s beloved film, Waitress tells the story of Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker. Jenna dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes for happiness. But Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life.

Waitress is a little slice of heaven!” says Entertainment Weekly and “a monumental contribution to Broadway” according to Marie Claire. Don’s miss this uplifting musical celebrating friendship, motherhood and the magic of a well-made pie.

Something Rotten!: April 24–29, 2018

From the director of Aladdin and co-director of The Book of Mormon and the producer of Rent, Avenue Q and In the Heights, this hilarious new musical comedy tells the story of brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, two playwrights stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star Will Shakespeare. When a soothsayer foretells the next big thing in theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, the Bottom brothers set out to write the world’s very first MUSICAL! With the most singing, the most dancing and the most gut-busting laughs on Broadway, it’s something wonderful…something for everyone…it’s Something Rotten!, “the funniest musical comedy in at least 400 years” (Time Out New York!). With its heart on its ruffled sleeve and sequins in its soul, Something Rotten! Is an uproarious dose of purse Broadway fun and an irresistible ode to musicals—those dazzling creations that entertain us, inspire us and remind us that everything’s better with an exclamation point!

RENT 20th Anniversary Tour: June 5–10, 2018

In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway…and forever changed the landscape of American theatre. Two decades later, Jonathan Larson’s RENT continues to speak loudly and defiantly to audiences across generations and all over the world. And now, this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning masterpiece returns to the stage in a vibrant 20th anniversary touring production. A re-imagining of Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dream without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters—love.

Prepare ye for the timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew. Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden), and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All for the Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side." A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life. Boasting a score with chart topping songs, a book by a visionary playwright (John-Michael Tebelak) and a feature film, Godspell is a sensation that continues to touch audiences all over the world.

Now Norah has come full circle with Day Breaks, a remarkable new album that finds her returning to her jazz roots while also proving her to be this era’s quintessential American artist, the purveyor of an unmistakably unique sound that weaves together the threads of several bedrock styles of American music: country, folk, rock, soul, jazz. Day Breaks is a kindred spirit to Come Away With Me, though it is unquestionably the work of a mature artist who has lived life and grown immensely in her craft. The album features jazz luminaries including saxophonist Wayne Shorter, organist Dr. Lonnie Smith, and drummer Brian Blade who played on Norah’s debut album and became the backbone (and backbeat) of the new album. Day Breaks is a set of 9 originals written or co-written by Norah with collaborators Sarah Oda and Pete Remm whose themes range from love in all its guises to the socio-political, as well as 3 covers of songs by Horace Silver (“Peace”), Duke Ellington (“Fleurette Africaine”) and Neil Young (“Don’t Be Denied”).

Assisted Living: The Musical® is an 85-minute, 1-act vaudevillian revue. The show’s host couple enters heaven, suspecting their son pulled the plug to get his hands on Dad’s vintage Corvette. They don’t seem to mind. Instead, the couple fondly remembers Pelican Roost, an active, full-service retirement community. There, the 2 actors play eighteen different characters who sing and dance, revel and kvetch, celebrate and bloviate their way through later life. The humor is pointed without mocking.  The songs are evocative, clever and quick, featuring: “Help! I’ve Fallen (For You) and I Can’t Get Up,” “My Hide,” “The Uplifting Viagra Medley” and MANY more. You’ll get to know such characters as:

  • Naomi Lipshitz-Yamamoto-Murphy regularly upgrades her living arrangements as an unintended consequence of spousal mortality.
  • A Stetson-ed lawyer promises that legal compensation hides in every act of aging.
  • A Wellness Center nurse actively – very actively – recruits organ donors.
  • A 93-year-old Cadillac owner redefines “Drive-Thru Window.”
  • A frenetic hypochondriac chases...

Well, you get the idea. Each one is living his and her life -- in the moment -- to the max.

Know Before You Go

Created by famed dance company Pilobolus, Shadowland is a first-of-its-kind performance combining legendary modern dance with high-energy, fast-paced multimedia, merging front-of-screen choreography with projected images and moving screens of different sizes and shapes.

Shadowland tells the story of a teenage girl, longing for her independence, with nowhere for her thoughts to go but to her dreams.  She sleeps, only to wake to something incredible lurking behind her bedroom wall – her shadow.  Walls spin, darkness swallows the girl, and she’s off on a journey into Shadowland.

Shadowland was conceived in collaboration with Steven Banks, lead writer for the playfully surreal animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, and is propelled by a rhythmic original score by the popular American musician, producer and film composer David Poe.  And, it is a signature Pilobolus presentation with the fluid logic of a dream, the grace of an acrobatic dance, the humor of a child, and the heart of a love story; it celebrates the strange and wonderful power of the dark to illuminate us in unexpected and utterly thrilling ways.

Know Before You Go

Steve Miller was a mainstay of the San Francisco music scene that upended American culture in the late '60s. With albums like Children of the Future, Sailor and Brave New World, Miller perfected a psychedelic blues sound that drew on the deepest sources of American roots music and simultaneously articulated a compelling vision of what music - and, indeed, society - could be in the years to come.

Then, in the '70s, Miller crafted a brand of pure pop that was polished, exciting and irresistible - and that dominated radio in a way that few artists have ever managed. Hit followed hit in what seemed like an endless flow: "Take The Money and Run," "Rock'n Me," "Fly Like an Eagle," "Jet Airliner" and "Jungle Love," among them.

To this day, those songs are instantly recognizable when they come on the radio - and impossible not to sing along with. Their hooks are the very definition of indelible.

Know Before You Go

In 2014, exhausted after four years of non-stop touring, the six members of the Head And The Heart pointed their individual compasses to new cities, new relationships and new adventures. Pianist Kenny Hensley learned to fly planes and enrolled in kung-fu training in China, while bassist Chris Zasche packed up a camper and went off the grid in the Canadian Rockies. Drummer Tyler Williams put down stakes across the country and immersed himself in the burgeoning music scene in Richmond, Va., while vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Charity Rose Thielen honed her compositional skills by writing for such legends as Mavis Staples.

After his own cross-country trip to reconnect with family and friends, vocalist/guitarist Jonathan Russell traveled to Haiti and found inspiration working with the non-profit Artists For Peace And Justice. “When I found out we were going to have a significant amount of time off, I saw it as an opportunity to touch base again -- to listen to what other people were saying and what they were going through,” he says. “I really wanted to make sure that I reconnected with a world that was starting to feel farther and farther away.”

When the Head And The Heart regrouped last summer in Stinson Beach, Ca., to start writing together again, “it almost felt like we were a new band, trying things we hadn’t tried,” Zasche recalls. “We stayed at a bungalow on the beach. We’d wake up, have coffee and go boogie boarding. We were ready and excited to be back together.”

That renewed sense of purpose can be felt throughout “Signs Of Light,” the group’s first release for Warner Bros. Records. “This album isn’t about us now having achieved our dreams,” says Thielen. “The day we started being able to live off our art was the day we achieved our dreams, in my mind. This is the album where we really fell into our true voices as those artists.”

"The Head and the Heart has partnered with Plus 1 so that $1 from every ticket sold will go to support Planned Parenthood and ACLU.”

Limit to 4 tickets per guest.

Know Before You Go

The original Jersey Boy himself, Frankie Valli is a true American legend. His incredible career with the Four Seasons, as well as his solo success, has spawned countless hit singles of unforgettable tunes like Sherry, Walk Like a Man, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Rag Doll, December ’63 – Oh What a Night, Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, and of course, Grease. His songs have been omnipresent in iconic movies such as The Deer Hunter, Dirty Dancing, Mrs. Doubtfire, Conspiracy Theory, and The Wanderers. As many as 200 artists have done cover versions of Mr. Valli’s Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, from Nancy Wilson’s jazz treatment to Lauryn Hill’s hip-hop makeover.

"Last year was our first time playing at the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando. We loved it!  A beautiful theater and the sound was fantastic.  And in Orlando the audiences are always terrific for us." – Frankie Valli

Know Before You Go

In a year that has seen Tedeschi Trucks Band headline several festivals, perform memorable multi-night residencies, and tour internationally in support of their latest album Let Me Get By, the 12-piece ensemble kicks off their Fall with a return to the West Coast. Driven by guitar virtuoso Derek Trucks and singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi, the Grammy Award-winning powerhouse comes to Orlando for one night only

Since their inception in 2010, TTB have seen all three of their studio albums debut in the Top 15 of the Billboard 200, and won a Grammy for their debut album Revelator. Let Me Get By (Fantasy/Concord) is the first album the band has released since Derek Trucks’ departure from the Allman Brothers Band. It’s a completely homegrown record, produced by Derek and delivering all original material written within the TTB family. Let Me Get By earned praise from Rolling Stone, the Wall Street Journal, and the Associated Press, who called it “one of the great records of the year.” NPR has praised Trucks and Tedeschi as “two of the best roots rock musicians of their generation.”

Know Before You Go

This breathtaking smash “captures the kid-at-heart” (Time Magazine). Vogue cheers, "it’s a must-see you’ll remember for years to come!” Directed by visionary Tony winner Diane Paulus, Finding Neverland tells the incredible story behind one of the world's most beloved characters: Peter Pan. Playwright J.M. Barrie struggles to find inspiration until he meets four young brothers and their beautiful widowed mother. Spellbound by the boys’ enchanting make-believe adventures, he sets out to write a play that will astound London theatergoers. With a little bit of pixie dust and a lot of faith, Barrie takes this monumental leap, leaving his old world behind for Neverland where nothing is impossible and the wonder of childhood lasts forever.
