Dr. Phillips Center Announces Sibille Hart Pritchard as Chair of Board of Directors
Orlando, FL — Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts announces today the appointment of Sibille Hart Pritchard as Chair of its Board of Directors, ushering in a new chapter of leadership for the organization as it continues to advance its vision of Arts For Every Life®. Born in Guyana, South America, and educated throughout Europe and the Caribbean, Pritchard’s journey to becoming one of Central Florida’s most influential
civic and cultural leaders spans continents — and now leads to the helm of the region’s premier performing arts institution.
She steps into the position having served as a board member since 2005 and chair of various committees.
“Sibille has spent decades doing what the arts do best — connecting people, cultures and communities,” said Kathy Ramsberger, president and CEO at Dr. Phillips Center. “She helped bring the Waldorf Astoria to Orlando and forged lasting ties between Florida and countries across Asia. That same instinct for building meaningful partnerships is exactly what will carry Dr. Phillips Center into its next era. We are honored to welcome her as Chair.”
Founder of Hart Communications, Pritchard has played an integral role in shaping major Central Florida projects, including the Bonnet Creek and South International Drive tourism corridors and the Waldorf Astoria Orlando, the first Waldorf Astoria property to open outside of New York City. Her work in commercial, tourism and international business development has connected Florida with destinations around the world, including markets in Japan, China and South Korea.
Pritchard began her career in journalism, spending 15 years as an award-winning editor for the Guyana Graphic newspaper. That foundation in storytelling and public discourse has informed her advocacy ever since.
Her community leadership includes service as chairperson of the Florida Delegation for the Southeast U.S./Japan and Southeast U.S./China Associations, chair of the Florida Arts Council, president and chairperson of United Arts of Central Florida and president of Florida Executive Women. She has also held leadership roles with numerous organizations dedicated to arts, education, healthcare, transportation and community development.
Her contributions have earned recognition including Orlando Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful in Entertainment & the Arts, Orlando Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business and the Seminole County Council for the Arts’ Heart for the Arts Award.
“As Chair, I look forward to supporting Dr. Phillips Center’s continued growth and impact throughout our community,” said Pritchard. “The arts have the power to inspire, educate and connect people from all walks of life. In a region as diverse and dynamic as Central Florida, that mission has never mattered more — and I am honored to help carry it forward.” Learn more at drphillipscenter.org.
