Vision & Mission
A LIVING VISION. A LASTING MISSION.
From iconic, name-in-lights performers to real people finding their place on the grand stage of life, we’re here to inspire the extraordinary – to share the power and possibility of the arts.
In its first decade, the arts center hosted 4,530 performances, contributed $190 million annually to the local economy, welcomed over 5 million guests and invested more than $22.8 million into the community through education, accessibility and arts & wellness initiatives. And we’re just getting started.
Dr. Phillips Center is proud to serve Central Florida and beyond as a hub for the best international, national and local artists, for community outreach and for arts education. And thanks to the people who make it possible, the spirit of our Vision and Mission lives in every moment.

A JOURNEY OF A DESTINATION
In 2014, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts opened its doors for the first time, welcoming guests to tour its theaters and hosting the community to a world-class concert on Seneff Arts Plaza. Ever since, the arts center has kept its promise to deliver Arts For Every Life® by creating a dynamic cultural destination where the arts impact the community in meaningful and lasting ways.
In its first decade, the arts center hosted thousands of performances, contributed millions of dollars annually to the local economy, welcomed several million guests and invested millions of dollars into the community through education, accessibility and arts & wellness initiatives. And we’re just getting started.
Take a scroll through some of our milestone moments below, and see how far we’ve come in spreading the power of the arts.
DR. PHILLIPS CENTER CHARITIES
Two nonprofit, philanthropic organizations make up Dr. Phillips Charities: Dr. Phillips Inc. and The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation. They manage and generate revenue from real estate and investment holdings to sustain Dr. Phillips Charities – letting us honor the Phillips family’s legacy of supporting the arts and humanities. As an especially fitting tribute, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts continues to inspire artists and the community alike.
About Dr. Philip Phillips
After moving to Central Florida in 1894, Dr. P. Phillips became synonymous with Orlando’s forward momentum. He established the world’s largest citrus operation, led the development of Orange County’s first industrial park and designed the area’s first planned residential community.
Dr. and Mrs. Phillips’ own residence even foreshadowed the arts center’s inception. Their Lake Lucerne home in downtown Orlando regularly saw its share of performances by world-renowned artists, and before long, the pastime transformed into a true society event. Dr. Phillips’ mission has endured since then: building a place where people can thrive – a place where they can live, work and play.
