Itzhak Perlman is one of the most celebrated violinists of the modern era, renowned for his extraordinary virtuosity, expressive artistry and enduring influence on classical music. Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1945, he first gained international attention after appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show as a teenager. He went on to study at the Juilliard School under the legendary violin teacher Dorothy DeLay.

Over a career spanning more than six decades, Perlman has performed with the world's leading orchestras and conductors, earning widespread acclaim for his interpretations of the violin repertoire. His extensive discography has received numerous honors, including 16 Grammy Awards, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and multiple Emmy Awards for television performances.

Beyond the concert stage, Perlman has reached audiences around the world through his performances on the soundtracks of acclaimed films, including Schindler's List, and through countless television appearances and educational initiatives. A dedicated teacher and mentor, he co-founded the Perlman Music Program, which nurtures exceptional young string musicians.

Perlman's many honors include the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the National Medal of Arts, the Kennedy Center Honors, and Israel's prestigious Wolf Prize. Admired for his warmth, humanity and unmistakable sound, Itzhak Perlman remains one of classical music's most beloved and influential artists.
