As the Holocaust Center of Florida continues its transformation into a dynamic new museum for Central Florida, they now launch the inaugural Hope & Humanity Speaker Series with An Evening with Van Jones.
This special community conversation will explore the fragility of democracy and the rise of extremism through the lens of antisemitism and America’s 250th anniversary. As history has repeatedly shown, antisemitism is often an early warning sign of broader threats to democratic institutions and civil society. By examining these challenges together, we hope to foster meaningful dialogue about the responsibilities we share in protecting democratic values and strengthening our communities.
Known nationally for his work in civic engagement, justice and bridge-building across differences, Van Jones will bring a thoughtful and timely perspective to this important discussion.
The Hope & Humanity Speaker Series reflects the future vision of the Center’s new museum, the Holocaust Museum for Hope & Humanity. As they transition from a Holocaust education center to a national-caliber museum, they are committed to bringing influential voices and thought leaders to Central Florida to address issues of injustice, othering and unbelonging—both in their own communities and across the nation. Through these conversations, they aim to inspire understanding, responsibility and hope for a more just future.
