Named the “Tragic” Symphony, Mahler’s Sixth is a massive tour de force for the orchestra, featuring the infamous hammer blows in the finale—moments so powerful they are iconic in orchestral history. Mahler believed that the symphony captured the struggle between hope and destiny, creating a work that is deeply human.The performance will mark Music Director Eric Jacobsen’s first-time conducting Mahler’s Sixth in Orlando, making it a must-see event in the 26/27 Season.
