Dr. Phillips Center Launches Summer Camps for Young Performers
From Musical Theatre to Improv, Camps Open for Students of all Ages and Skill Levels
Orlando, FL – Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts opened enrollment for seven summer camps at AdventHealth School of the Arts. Ranging from musical theatre to improv comedy, the camps welcome students of all ages and experience levels to learn from performing arts professionals.
Camps run from June 8 through July 31 for children ages 6 to 18, with early registration pricing starting at $355 when enrolled by April 19, 2026. Each one-week camp culminates in a final showcase on a professional stage, where friends and family are invited to celebrate students’ achievements.
“Our summer camps are about building confidence, creativity and connection,” said Ryan Simpson, education director at Dr. Phillips Center. “By welcoming students of all ages and experience levels onto our professional stages, we’re creating meaningful opportunities for young people to discover their voices, express themselves and experience the arts with hands on experience.”
To support the art centers' vision of delivering Arts for Every Life®, Dr. Phillips Center offers scholarship opportunities to provide accessible professional arts experiences. Scholarships are based on financial need and/or strong interest in the performing arts.
Dr. Phillips Center Summer 2026 camps include:
Take It From The Top Broadway Intensive (June 8-12, 2026): A professional Broadway workshop designed by Broadway veterans Paul Canaan and Tony Award Nominee Laura Bell Bundy. Participants will explore the “triple threat” of music, dance and theatre with a final performance for an invited audience of family and friends in Walt Disney Theater.
Theatre Arts: A Devised Theatre Journey (June 29-July 2, 2026): Through acting, movement, poetry and music, students will be able to use their imagination to tell a never-before-seen unique story.
Comedy: Improv Intensive with SAK Comedy Lab (June 29-July 2, 2026): Students have an opportunity to delve into comedy, stand up, monologue and improv while working through various acting and improvisational methods with expert Improvisors.
Musical Theatre: Best of Broadway (July 6-10, 2026): A Broadway themed musical theatre week created to expand vocal technique, character development, dance and stage presence.
Musical Theatre: Undersea Adventure (July 13-17, 2026): Through theatrical performance combining songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance, students will tell a thrilling story while moving through beloved ocean-inspired stories like The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo and Moana.
Musical Theatre: Villain Vibes (July 20-24, 2026): During this musical theatre week, students will bring a spooky and silly story to life inspired by iconic animated villains. Through theatrical performance combining songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance, explore confidence, individuality and teamwork while embracing their villainous side.
Musical Theatre: Pixar Pals (July 27-31, 2026): Through theatrical performance combining songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance, students will explore the various themes of friendship, courage and being true to yourself inspired by Pixar films such as Monsters, Inc., Coco, Turning Red and Toy Story.
