June 12–27, 2027

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts – Orlando, Florida

Applications open November 01, 2026

Be a part of the ultimate summer training program for young musical theatre artists. In this fully immersive, conservatory-style experience, performers grow their skills, build their confidence and experience what it’s like to work in a professional production – all while forming lasting friendships and unforgettable memories.

This comprehensive program is open to rising high school sophomores through graduating seniors (grades 10 – 12.) And with housing, meals, rehearsals, classes and special events all included, we take care of the details so students can focus on growing as artists.

The Experience

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
Each day consists of a balanced schedule of professional-level classes and rehearsals in voice, dance and acting. Just as you would in a professional theatre setting, you’ll immediately apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to the rehearsal room.
LEARN FROM INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS
Train alongside accomplished theatre artists and industry professionals throughout every part of the FMTI experience. From daily classes and specialized masterclasses to rehearsals and the production process, students work directly with professionals who bring real-world experience, insight, and perspective into the studio and onto the stage.
FULL-SCALE MUSICAL
Rehearse and perform in a fully staged musical, culminating in live performances on one of the arts center’s world-class stages, Steinmetz Hall. From rehearsal process to final curtain call, this is a true professional experience.
ALL-INCLUSIVE ACCOMMODATIONS
Housing, meals, rehearsals, classes and special events are all covered. Because your time and energy should be focused on growing as an artist and making lifelong friendships and memories. This sense of community is a defining part of the experience.
Les Miserables

Show Announcement

Set against the backdrop of revolutionary France, Les Misérables is a sweeping story of love, sacrifice, redemption, and the fight for a better future.

Based on Victor Hugo’s epic novel, the musical follows the intertwined lives of Jean Valjean, Javert, Fantine, Cosette, Marius, and a generation of young revolutionaries as they navigate love, loss, injustice, and hope.

More Than a Program. A Community.

Don't just take our word for it. Hear from last year's FMTI students about the training, the performances and the lifelong friendships they made.

"FMTI was not only a place where I learned so many things from trained professionals, but it honestly became a second home. The incredible staff, faculty, and friendships made this experience unforgettable."
ATHENA RIANO

"FMTI was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences I've had as a performer. It strengthened my work ethic, professionalism, and love for theatre while giving me lifelong friendships."
DE'MARI MARSH

Provide video links through YouTube, Google Drive, or Vimeo:

WRITTEN RESPONSES
