About the show

From the voice that made “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire” feel like home, Tenderly: A Nat King Cole Christmas is a warm holiday edition of Duane Forrest’s acclaimed theatrical concert about one of the most influential voices of the 20th century.

Blending live music, storytelling, jazz and gospel, the show celebrates Nat King Cole’s Christmas legacy while exploring the dignity, resilience and quiet courage behind the man whose voice became part of the sound of the season.

Inspired by Cole’s beloved holiday recordings, including his landmark album The Magic of Christmas, this special version features Christmas songs, Nat King Cole classics and powerful stories from the civil rights era.
