Rio's samba-funk legend makes his Judson's Live debut. Breezy, soulful, and impossible to sit still for.

“One of Brazil's most compelling contemporary voices” (NPR), Latin Grammy nominee Rogê (pronounced haw-zheh) has earned global acclaim for his swinging samba-funk colored with Brazilian soul. Sway to this singer-songwriter’s breezy sound when he makes his Judson’s Live debut.

A torchbearer of the revival of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira)—Brazil’s unique blend of samba, bossa nova, funk and rock—Rogê is celebrated as a local legend in his native Rio for purveying this signature sound. His acclaim rose when he cowrote the theme song for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. Rogê has collaborated with fellow Brazilian icons like Seu Jorge and Arlindo Cruz, and his highly anticipated 2024 album, Curyman II, features string arrangements from bossa nova legend Arthur Verocai as well as bass from BADBADNOTGOOD’s Chester Hansen.

“The Rio samba star reaches an international audience at last with this funky, genre-hopping set.”  – The Guardian
