A torchbearer of the revival of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira)—Brazil’s unique blend of samba, bossa nova, funk and rock—Rogê is celebrated as a local legend in his native Rio for purveying this signature sound. His acclaim rose when he cowrote the theme song for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. Rogê has collaborated with fellow Brazilian icons like Seu Jorge and Arlindo Cruz, and his highly anticipated 2024 album, Curyman II, features string arrangements from bossa nova legend Arthur Verocai as well as bass from BADBADNOTGOOD’s Chester Hansen.
