Wayne Escoffery Quartet

About the show

Grammy-winning saxophonist Wayne Escoffery brings warm, dark-hued tenor and haunting intensity to modern jazz. A musical director of the Mingus Big Band and longtime member of the Tom Harrell Quintet, Wayne has performed and recorded with Herbie Hancock and Ron Carter and earned multiple DownBeat Critics Poll honors.

His performances feature music from his latest albums, Alone and Like Minds, along with new compositions. Alone reveals a more atmospheric side, shifting from blistering improvisation to rich, expressive melodies rooted in blues and modern jazz.
