Student Spotlight: Amelia Velten

Student Spotlight: Amelia Velten

Nine-year-old Amelia Velten eats, sleeps and breathes musical theater. In her free time, she loves attending performances at Dr. Phillips Center or taking part in summer camps and classes at the AdventHealth School of the Arts.

Amelia’s first experience performing began in 2021 when she joined her first musical summer camp. And since then, she’s participated in four summer camps, and every fall and spring session too. Her hobbies of singing, dancing and acting quickly sparked a passion for the arts.

Beyond performing, Amelia has enjoyed meeting other students in the camps and connecting with those who share her love for musical theater. Her experiences in the performing arts have had a positive impact offstage too, boosting her confidence and giving her the courage to take on new challenges both at home and in school.

Amelia’s experiences onstage and in the classroom have inspired her to keep honing her skills. Her next goal is to enhance her dance technique and continue progressing as a "triple threat" performer. The support and opportunities at the AdventHealth School of the Arts have fueled her determination to improve and deepened her lifelong love for musical theater.
