An Evening with Samara Joy

About the show

Few figures in jazz history have experienced the kind of meteoric rise that vocalist Samara Joy has enjoyed. At just 26, the winner of six Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, has achieved the kind of profile typically reserved for pop celebrities.

Samara has earned a reputation as a masterful interpreter of jazz standards, drawing comparisons to legendary vocalists Sarah Vaughan, Betty Carter and Carmen McRae. Since winning the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2019, she has captivated audiences at Carnegie Hall, the Apollo Theater, the Newport Jazz Festival and other legendary stages.

Now, following the acclaimed releases of Linger Awhile and Portrait, this sensational young vocalist returns to Steinmetz Hall.
