About the show
Emma Nissen is one of the most exciting voices to emerge from the jazz world in recent years. The Arizona-raised singer-songwriter went viral in 2023 with her "Jesus and Jazz" scatting reel—a clip that sent her from under 10k to nearly 900k Instagram followers almost overnight and racked up over 200 million views. That viral moment caught the ear of Adam Blackstone, Emmy and Grammy-winning musical director for Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and Maroon 5, who invited Emma to perform at the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City. Nissen brings a rare combination: the vocal acrobatics of a seasoned jazz vocalist, the soulful warmth of gospel and the stage charisma of a born entertainer. Her debut album Love Like You (2024) hit #1 on the iTunes Christian chart and was followed by sold-out tour dates across Europe.
